#27 is the name of my Porsche 964 Carrera 4. The name comes from the atomic number of the chemical Cobalt and was inspired by the car's original Porsche colour "Cobalt blue". The irony is that #27 has now been repainted in Porsche Adricatic Blue.

Number 27 - Porsche 964 - car graphic

I've always thought modern cars were unnecessarily bloated, even ones like the 964 from the 1990's. The philosophy of the car is to increase performace by removing any unnecessary weight, without making it undrivable on the road. As such most of the sound deadening which is low down in the car has been left in place but many other parts have been removed or modified:

  • Stereo and speaker delete
  • Sunroof delete
  • Main washer bottle delete
  • Rear seats and parcel shelf delete
  • Rear wiper delete
  • Carbon bonnet
  • Composite engine cover
  • Fog lights replaced with working brake cooling intakes
  • Rear blower delete
  • Frunk carpeting removed
  • RS Door cards
  • Lighweight fibreglass engine tin
  • Rear engine undertray removed
  • Alluminium rear shocks and top mounts
  • Composite transmisson cover
  • Lithium battery
